The government issued a permit to local firm Tevani & Co for the construction of a small hydropower plant (HPP) on the Maritsa river. The monthly electricity output of the future HPP Tevani 1 will be 237,500 kWh.

The power plant will be located near the village of Gabrovitsa, in the Belovo municipality.
