At least 16 people died after a passenger bus crashed into a crowd of people near the Bulgarian town of Yambol. The bus had failed to pull over due to a technical problem, the Interior Ministry in Sofia said. At least 15 people were being treated for injuries in a nearby hospital. Authorities said four of them were in critical condition. May 29 will be National Day of Mourning in Bulgaria, the government decided.
