The ancient Thracian town of Seutopolis will be retrieved from the depths of the Koprinka dam. The Thracian town is the best-preserved Thracian settlement in Bulgaria. It was discovered and researched in 1948 and later reburied on the bottom of the dam.

"If we implement the project for the exposition of the ancient Seutopolis from the under the waters, the Valley of the Thracian Kings will become an equal to the Valley of the Pharaohs," believes Stefan Damianov, Kazanlak Mayor. Last summer he visited the mayor of Luxor in  Egypt and was shown the unique monuments of ancient Egypt.

The last  barriers for the implementation of the mega project Seutopolis that will make accessible the remains of the Thracian town are now in the past as the working group, appointed by Bulgaria`s Minister of Culture, Stefan Danailov gave a green light to the project.

The only thing to be done before the start of the work on the project is the geological research. The researchers will have to examine the stability of the terrain on which Seuthopolis presently lies and also see how much the remnants of the old town are preserved after 50 years under water.
